USDA Announces ECAP Aid for Farmers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced a new round of direct economic assistance for agricultural producers through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP). This program is designed to help farmers offset rising input costs and falling commodity prices for the 2024 crop year.

Who’s Eligible?
Producers who have reported their 2024 planted or prevented planted acres to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) via an FSA-578 Report of Acreage form, are eligible. Payments will be calculated based on a per-acre rate for specific commodities, including corn, soybeans, wheat, oilseeds, oats, and cotton.

How to Apply

  • Pre-filled applications will be sent to eligible producers who have submitted acreage reports to the FSA.
  • If you don’t receive an application, visit fsa.usda.gov/ecap to apply online or contact your local FSA office.
  • The deadline to submit applications is August 15, 2025.

Why It Matters
ECAP provides critical financial relief for farmers, helping to manage expenses and secure financing for next season. Don't miss out on this opportunity to strengthen your operation!
